In accordance with the AICTE guidelines and pursuant to Act No. 33 of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, the Institute has constituted the SC/ST Committee.
The primary objective of this committee is to prevent atrocities against SC/ST students and staff, ensure a secure and inclusive campus environment, and provide a robust mechanism for the redressal of any grievances.
The committee is mandated to execute the following administrative and welfare functions:
> Grievance Redressal: Function as an active Grievance Redressal Cell for SC/ST students, faculty, and staff. The committee will formally hear, investigate, and resolve any complaints or reported incidents of atrocities or discrimination. > Prevention & Security: Enforce strict measures to prevent any form of atrocity or bias against SC/ST community members within the institute, fostering a deep sense of security and equity. > Academic & Personal Counselling: Provide dedicated guidance and counselling to SC/ST students to help them navigate academic challenges, administrative hurdles, and personal issues. > Financial Aid Awareness: Actively compile, track, and promote various welfare and scholarship schemes offered by the UGC, Central Government, and State Government. > Resource Utilization: Encourage and facilitate students to leverage institutional resources, specifically maximizing the benefits of the Book Bank Scheme and specialized library facilities.
