Our Information Technology student association named FOBITS, abbreviated as "Family Of Brilliant Information Technology Students" was formed in the year 2005.Ever year one student from final year and one from pre final year will be elected as President and Vice President respectively and some students from all classes will be assigned as representatives. The list of newly selected members will be announced during first day of ELIXIR.

Department of Information Technology organizes a national level technical symposium "ELIXIR" on every academic year during odd semester. Students from various institutions all over Tamilnadu participate and win attractive prizes. Two faculties from our department will be deputed as coordinators for managing various activities and it helps them to improve their leading and managing capabilities. It is conducted during August of ever year.

It is conducted during February of every year. We used FEBMEET as right forum for introducing first year IT students to their seniors. We give opportunity for first year students to participate in various events.

We the Department of Information Technology, proudly deputing our faculties for Software Training for employees of "Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited" which is held more than five times per year at BHEL, Trichy. Our faculty members got very good feedback from them at the end of every training.

We are conducting Bridge course on C and C++ for all II year students of IT, ECE and EIE at the beginning every odd semesters which makes them feel very easy when studying Data Structures and OOPS. A bridge course on Java will be conducted for all III year IT student for improving their network programming skill.

This will be held for first three days from the day of college reopening. A separate time table and syllabus will be framed for the same.

We are organizing various guest lectures and seminars for our UG and PG students with great contribution from IE and CSI professional bodies.
