NATIONAL CADET CORPS

National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth - 'The Leaders of Tomorrow' - into disciplined and patriotic citizens.

  • To develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the Country.
  • To Provide Leadership in all Walks of life and be Always Available for the Service of the Nation. Also to provide a Suitable Environment to Motivate the Youth to Take Up a Career in the Armed Forces.
Based on the aims of the NCC, unit is raised at M.A.M College of Engineering on 10th December 2009.

  • I Batch (2008) – 17 cadets selected for the training year (2009-2010) and
  • II Batch (2009) – 33 cadets selected for the training year (2010-2011) [TOTAL – 50 NCC cadets]

Academic Year 2010 - 2011

Social service activities were conducted by NCC cadets:


  • Tree plantation ceremony was held at M.A.M.C.E campus on 27 th aug 10 principal Dr. Maluk Mohamed inaugurated the function. 50 tree saplings were issued by the NCC unit[4(TN) girls Battalion NCC]
  • Anti Tobacco awareness program was conducted at TVS tolgate where pamplets were issued by the cadets and organized by the caretakers(P.Preethy Janet, M.A.M.C.E) and (Sri Nithi, Bharathidasan University)

  • Sanitation program was conducted by NCC cadets at suriyoor village.

  • The following cadets are selected and attended TSC(G) training camp (GP level) on 1st June to 10th June 2010, conducted by 8(TN) Bn NCC - Kumbakonam at Sastra University.

  • Enrollment of 33 senior wing cadets for the training year 2010-2011 was selected on 27 July 2010 at MAMCE campus.
  • Ms. P.Preethy Janet Dept of IT(MAMCE) caretaker of NCC has been commissioned as a Lieutenant after completing 3 months training at OTA (officer Training Academy ) Gwalior dated from (20 th sep 10 to 18 dec 10)
  • ATC (Annual Training Camp) was conducted at M.A.M.C.E on 8 th to 17 th Jan 2011), 10 senior wing ANO’s, 07 junior wing ANO’s, 450 SW cadets and 300 JW cadets participated in this camp.
  • Out of 33, II Batch girl cadets, 24 cadets are eligible and took up the ‘B’ certificate examination on 19 th & 20 th Feb 2010 at Cauvery College.
  • These 24 cadets have undergone a special cadre class training from (03 to 7 Feb 11) at M.A.M.C.E
  • ‘C’ certificate Examination was conducted on 13 th and 14 th march 2011 for I batch girl cadets at Jamal Mohamed college.
  • 12 students written the ‘C’ certificate Examination.
  • The following cadets are selected and attended CATC – Cum – IUC Camp on 09 th to 18 th Jun 2011 conducted by 2(TN) Battalion at NIT - Thuvakudi (Trichy).

Academic Year 2009 - 2010

  • NCC cadets are enrolled according to the vacancies allotted by 4(TN) Girls Battalion NCC Unit, Crawford. As per the vacancies the second year students are enrolled.
  • These cadets are trained by conducting theory classes on Map reading, First Aid, Weapon Training etc., and practical classes such as Drill, Games, Physical fitness, Firing, Tent Pitching etc., in order to motivate their abilities.
  • Our students (I Batch) attended an ATC (Annual Training Camp) conducted by 4(TN) Girls Battalion NCC Unit at Mont Fort school – Kattur (Trichy) from 24 Dec 2009 to 02 Jan 2010.
  • Among 17 cadets, 15 best cadets took up their ‘B’ Certificate examination held at Jamal Mohamed College – Trichy on 13 th and 14 th Feb 2010.
